11 May 2018, 18:18 (UTC -6) from
above Cerro Chino (0.3 km NE from volcano):
My son and brother climbed within 200 meters of the crater on Saturday, 11th of May, 2018. There was no lava flowing from the Northwest side, but dried lava from Friday evening was present with high temperature reading. They were able to pour water on some of it and it immediately converted to steam. Also, they could see 50 meters in front of them intense heat rising from lava. While they stood there they observed constant eruptions throwing lava and rock about 50 meters into the air.
